With the accent on holistic wellness, we create an experience that inspires people to live a life full of zest and meaningful purpose, and allows them to transcend beyond the daily grind of life to blend in harmony with nature. Ayurveda is the age old Indian System of medicine practiced in India since the Vedic period. Medicinal properties of herbs and minerals are mentioned for the first time in Adarvaveda, one of the four Vedas.
Vedas are the books of wisdom of ancient India. They are Rigveda, Yajurveda, Samaveda and Adarvaveda. All the traditional Indian sciences have their roots in these Vedas. In Adarvaveda about 64 herbs are mentioned along with their therapeutic properties for the treatment of diseases and for maintaining the balance of the doshas. More and more knowledge has been added to this corpus during the centuries and has slowly evolved into a full-fledged science of medicine; put in a broader perspective it has become an art of living healthy, and in harmony with the Universe, observing its natural rhythms. This science came to be known as Ayurveda – the Science of Life.
PThe Universe is composed of five fundamental elements, Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Ether which are called the Panchabhutas. All living and non living matter is made of these five elements.
In the living body the five fundamental elements combine among themselves in differing ratios to form three basic principles of life – the Tridoshas. They are Vata - dominantly Air and Ether showing their characters, Pitta - dominantly Fire and Water showing their characters, and Kapha - dominantly Earth and Water showing their characters.
IIndividuals are formed with unique combinations of the doshas, the Prakriti. The Prakriti is formed when the ovum and the sperm unite to form a new life. It is heavily dependent on the dosha combination and the kind of life, work, food, environment, etc of the donors. Prakriti is a dynamic balance among the doshas. The physical and mental character of any living thing is determined by its Prakriti.
